Welcome Isabel! Our New Kid Contributor!

We are so excited to have a new contributor on board the Breaking Ground Green Roof blog! Isabel visited us last week as part of a video project where kids from all areas of the city came to our roof in Jacksonville, FL, to plant new native flowers and pick ripe vegetables and fruits. We had a great time with 9 amazing young people, from Springfield to the beaches,  who got to see their very FIRST vegetated green roof. One young lady, when asked if she had ever seen such a thing, replied, “Of course!” When I prodded a bit more to ask where she had seen a green roof, she smiled and said, “Uh,…in a book!” And so, my heart became full with the idea that here at Breaking Ground Contracting  we are exposing children to “first” experiences when it comes to unique, sustainable features in this region. But,  back to Isabel.

Isabel has agreed to be a regular “Kid Contributor” to our blog. We will be adding her name to the list of contributors under the “About Us” tab, so look for her posts on this site, as well as her videos. Her first post discusses the recipes she created from her green roof pickings from last week. She has also created a video to go with the recipes so that viewers may recreate her tasty dishes.

Welcome, Isabel! We look forward to reading more!

  • 1 banana pepper

Cut up all the ingredients and put them in a pan with some olive oil. Stir and serve.
